Martinez earns pro initials

Weatherford school trustee and dry-cleaning mogul Charlie Martinez earned the title Certified Professional Drycleaner.

Meeting established qualifications for the title entitled Martinez to take an examination that tested his understanding of dry cleaning operating procedures, standards and safe equipment operations.

Successfully passing the exam entitled him to use the professional designation CPD through 2011.

Martinez was among nationwide candidates who took the three-hour exam Feb. 9. It was administered by a professional testing corporation under contract with the Drycleaning and Laundry Institute, a trade association based in Laurel, Md.
